Three children — Cósmico, Luna and Maninho — live on a futuristic planet in the year 2973, where life is fully programmed. They limit themselves to fulfilling their assigned destinies: studying, eating, sleeping and studying more. One night, they get lost in space and discover an infinite and colourful universe, forgotten in the small Giramundos Circus. Cosmic Boy is the first feature film by Alê Abreu and features the musicians Vanessa da Mata, Arnaldo Antunes and Belchior — whose character Záz Tráz performs a version of his classic “Como Nossos Pais”.
