The Argentine filmmaker Matías Piñeiro has developed his career at the crossroad between literature and cinema. In recent years, he has made a series of fictions, which he has called Las Shakespeariadas, intervening in theatrical texts by William Shakespeare. For his latest film, Tú me abrasas, he drew on a story by Cesare Pavese and expanded it with the poetry of Sappho. In this masterclass, Matías Piñeiro will talk about the process of translating the word, written or spoken, to the big screen: a journey through the creative writing process, from the conception of an idea to its mise-en-scene.
