Programme:
This cinematic essay, produced with the support of Batalha, explores the last films watched by famous figures before their deaths, imagining a history of cinema built around these final viewings. From Franz Kafka to Kurt Cobain, unusual coincidences reveal unexpected affinities across time and space. Narrated by Jeremy Irons, Last Movies is a witty, original and radically unpredictable work. Following two marathons lasting over 17 hours, the project returns to Batalha in feature-length format, screened on the eve of All Souls’ Day as a tribute to the deceased and the images that accompanied them.
