They didn’t know each other and hadn’t planned anything. A microphone, a tape recorder and eight reels brought together Pedro Laranjeira (1945–2015), Paulo Coelho and Adelino Gomes. The three of them captured the freedom unleashed on the streets by the people, from the dawn of the uprising to the fall of the regime. The listening session «... E Temos o Povo...» offers an audio journey back to that first day, experienced as “a film or a play”, in the words of the reporters. Batalha hosts this unique session in Porto as part of FITEI — the International Festival of Iberian Theatre, inviting listeners to experience the first radio report on 25 April 1974 in its entirety, a rare document forgotten for over 50 years.
The listening session takes place simultaneously in the cinema and at Bar High Life (with LGP), where, at the end of the session, there will be a discussion with Adelino Gomes (journalist), Cláudia Varejão (filmmaker) and Regina Guimarães (poet, filmmaker, playwright and lyricist).
Session in Sala 1: Free entrance upon ticket pickup on the same day. Limited to two tickets per person.
Session at the Bar: With LGP. Free admission.
