On the Senegalese coast, Ada is in love with Souleiman, but is betrothed to another man. One night, Souleiman and his colleagues go out to sea in search of a better future. This journey sets in motion a series of mystical, mysterious events. A supernatural tale of migration and love, the film unfurls between the landscape of Dakar, the Atlantic waves and the atmospheric music by Fatima Al Qadiri. This debut feature-length film by French-Senegalese filmmaker and actress Mati Diop, and starring Mama Sané, won the Grand Prix at Cannes.
