Programme:
In Our Song to War, Juanita Onzaga takes us to Bojayá, a Colombian village scarred by the 2002 massacre carried out by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). In a poetic and visually rich style, the film follows a community where the world of the living and that of the dead coexist through animist beliefs and ancestral rituals. Culminating in the Novenário, a funeral ritual intended to appease the spirits of the dead and prevent their return, this work constructs, amidst memory, mourning and hope, a space where humans and spirits meet whilst the wounds of the conflict persist.
