Programme:
Drawing on the mythological narrative of the Hočąk indigenous people about the twins Flesh and Ghost, Hopinka combines cultural and personal memory in an essay on loss, identity and the cycles of life. The story of the brothers separated at birth resonates through a poem, intertwining with clouds, waves, shadows and VHS footage of significant moments from the artist’s youth. These fragments establish a dialogue between past and present, reflecting on what endures and continues to shape those who remember.
