residency

residency is the result of a film training and co-creation project with the wider community of Albergues do Porto, and with the support of Cultura em Expansão 2025. After an initial meeting in the context of a film workshop for children in Batalha, and the creation of an informal film club with the residents of Albergues do Porto, the project has become a creative laboratory, designed in close collaboration with the community. Starting from a reflection on the ways in which the situation of homeless people is represented in cinema, and extrapolations around the issue of home, or lack thereof, the project discusses different aspects of the city and our coexistence. The process, which combined various modes of research and creation, gave rise to a film, directed by Amarante Abramovici and Lucas Tavares with the wider community of Albergues do Porto, which premieres in Batalha.
