New Moons: Inês Nunes

Inês Nunes has been developing a cinematic language that blends reality with a dreamlike atmosphere, through the fictional works she directs, writes and edits, alongside her work as a video editor for other filmmakers.

A graduate in Film from the Lisbon School of Theatre and Cinema, she recently completed a Master’s degree in Film Directing at the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola in San Sebastián, as a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation scholarship holder. Her first short film, História da Noite, made as part of her undergraduate degree, premiered at IndieLisboa in 2019, and the following year she presented Sonho de um Verão at Curtas Vila do Conde.

Her most recent film, A Solidão dos Lagartos, shot in the Algarve, her home region, premiered in the Official Short Film Competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025, won the Nest Award for Best Short Film at the San Sebastián Film Festival and was awarded the Prize for Best National Short Film at IndieLisboa. She is currently working on her first feature film.

In this screening, we show her three short films and welcome her for a talk with the audience.
