La nuit obscure de Marlene Monteiro Freitas, Marie Losier

Renowned for her biographical portraits of figures such as Peaches, Genesis P-Orridge and Felix Kubin, Marie Losier has built a career marked by experimentalism, a commitment to film and a deeply personal approach. Her new film, La nuit obscure de Marlene Monteiro Freitas, co-produced by Batalha, is dedicated to the Cape Verdean choreographer and performer Marlene Monteiro Freitas, whose unique language and exploration of the body’s expressive and metamorphic possibilities have gained widespread international recognition.

Batalha invited Losier to create an installation project based on this new film, transposing the intimate portrait of the artist and her creative process into the exhibition space.
