KISMIF Summer School

Batalha is one of the venues hosting the 8th edition of the KISMIF Conference, which this year is dedicated to the themes of DIY Cultures, Global Uncertainty and Critical Imagination. At the Cinema Centre, the KISMIF Summer School, centred on the theme CLASH THE FUTURE! CTRL + ALT + RIOT, will present lectures, workshops, a book showcase, DJ sets and films focused on the discussion of (post-)subcultures and the possibilities of critical imagination in the design of new futures and alternatives.

This initiative focuses on the discussion, sharing and co-creation of knowledge about (post-)subcultures and gothic, (post-)punk, neo-romantic, new age and cyber scenes, amongst others, from a public science perspective. The aim is to discuss not only music, but also other artistic fields, such as film and video, fanzines and literature, graphic design and fashion, as well as critical thinking and programming rooted in contemporary (post-)subcultural traditions.
