The Nature of Holidays

The Nature of Holidays echoes the changes in the rhythm and texture of time over summer, through a gathering of films and artworks that seem to exist and play with suspended time. From being busy doing nothing to the pursuit of leisure in the light, from bodies at rest to restless landscapes — of nature and the mind —, spaces with alternative speeds take shape.

As we watch the films in this exhibition, presented in various spaces at the Cinema Centre, including the two screening rooms, we become, in a way, their mirror: bodies present, almost motionless, transformed into living still lifes. A proposal that brings to the fore the essence of holidays and free time — and what, after all, we do with this time that seems to demand nothing of us.
