On July 3, 1973, David Bowie took the stage at London’s Hammersmith Odeon for the last time in the guise of Ziggy Stardust, joined by his backing band, the Spiders from Mars. Near the end of the night, just before performing “Rock ’n’ Roll Suicide,” Bowie made a cryptic announcement signaling the end of his iconic persona—an alien, androgynous, and provocative rock star who had burst onto the scene a year earlier with the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. This documentary captures that historic concert, featuring performances of songs like “Changes,” “Space Oddity,” and “Ziggy Stardust.”
