It's the early 80s and Julie, a young film student searching for her voice as an artist and as a woman, becomes involved with Anthony, an older man. As their romance evolves, Anthony's lies and manipulative behaviour have devastating consequences for both their lives. Winner of the Jury Grand Prize at Sundance, The Souvenir is a melancholic, semi-autobiographical tale of toxic love and youthful inexperience, in which life and art intersect. A film where, true to life, Tilda Swinton and Honor Byrne play mother and daughter.
