The GraduateThe Graduate

Nominated for seven Oscars and winning in the category of Best Director, The Graduate is one of the most emblematic American films of the 1960s. Based on the novel by Charles Webb, it follows Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman), a young man who has no idea what to do with his life after coming back home from university. Sophisticated humour, cinematography that seems to have come from a David Hockney painting and a soundtrack that made Simon & Garfunkel famous — all of this ensured the film was not just a commercial success, but also a cultural milestone for a generation.
