In a closed thermodynamic system—part art gallery, part coal-fired furnace—staged confrontations are triggered by workers and climate activists. Drawing inspiration from a decommissioned power plant in Lisbon converted into a museum complex, João Enxuto and Erica Love use Unreal Engine, a popular tool for video game design, to present an essay on the byproduct of combustion—what remains of the reaction between fuel and oxygen that produces heat— and the political and media environment marked by intellectual erosion and corrosive policies.
Screening with filmmakers, Carlos Natálio and Eduarda Neves
