Valentine's Day Special: The Dionti Family

Using magical realism to address first love, loss, and social change in a region of rural Brazil rarely portrayed in cinema, this drama follows a father raising his two children alone. Their mother no longer lives with them — she melted away with love. While waiting for her return with every rainfall in a region affected by constant drought, the father watches his children closely, fearing they have inherited their mother's gift. Serino is arid and cries grains of sand. Kelton, falling in love with a young woman from the circus, literally dissolves into love.
