Some Like It Hot

A madcap mafia chase is the starting point for this famous comedy by Billy Wilder, which features Marilyn Monroe’s immortal performance of the song “I Wanna Be Loved by You”. After witnessing a crime and fearing they will be the next victims, Joe (Tony Curtis) and Jerry (Jack Lemmon) disguise themselves as women and join an all-female band on tour. In wigs and dresses, the two do everything they can to blend in and escape their pursuers. On release, the film caused a scandal in the USA for taking on themes like cross-dressing and homosexuality, which were considered taboo within the conservative values of 1950s society.
