The Damned Yard

Based on the short story "A Fratricide", by Franz Kafka, the narrative of The Damned Yard is built on a juxtaposition of the same event in the perspective of four peculiar characters, residents in the same building: Schmar, his brother Mr. Wese, Mrs. Wese and their neighbour Pallas. André Gil Mata's most recent film — selected as a world premiere at Rotterdam Film Festival — is a grim exercise in slow cinema, filmed in 16mm.
