The Night of the Hunter

In Las Vegas, on Independence Day, a couple’s marriage comes to an end on the day of their fifth wedding anniversary. Fanny, a travel agent, dreams of going on holiday to the exotic destinations she recommends to her clients, while Hank, indifferent to Fanny’s wanderlust, is preoccupied with buying a house. They spend the holiday apart and both have affairs with new partners. With an unforgettable blues soundtrack by Tom Waits, One From the Heart was a bold attempt by Coppola to revive the grandiose musicals of Hollywood's golden age in the 1980s, in a mega-production that almost bankrupted him.
