One Battle After Another

Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a former member of the French 75 revolutionary group, lives in hiding with his teenage daughter Willa (Chase Infiniti), who he has raised alone after his partner disappeared. The fragile family peace is disrupted when Willa is kidnapped by Steven Lockjaw (Sean Penn), an enemy who resurfaces after 16 years. Forced to face his past, Bob reunites his old allies from French 75 to save her. Inspired by Thomas Pynchon's Vineland, Anderson constructs a complex tale about legacy, family and ideals, which navigates between adventure, comedy and political satire. The film has been nominated for 13 Oscars.
