Blood

Premiered at the Venice Film Festival, Pedro Costa's first feature film, starring Pedro Hestnes, Nuno Ferreira, and Inês de Medeiros, immediately reveals a unique style. On the outskirts of Lisbon, two brothers, Vicente, 17, and Nino, 10, share a secret. Their father has disappeared, and something serious has happened. Only Vicente and Clara, the primary school assistant, know the truth. They try to protect each other, but promises and silences drive them apart. Childhood darkens, and the secret becomes an unbearable burden.
