I Only Rest In the Storm

Selected for Cannes and highlighted by Cahiers du Cinéma as one of the ten best films of 2025, Pedro Pinho's new work follows Sérgio, an environmental engineer sent by an NGO to assess the impact of a road in a region between the desert and the jungle of West Africa. While trying to understand the inexplicable disappearance of the technician who preceded him, he encounters the political tensions of ‘development’ projects, the ambiguities of humanitarianism and the complex presence of expatriates.
