Based on the novel of the same name by William S. Burroughs and incorporating incidents from the author’s life, Naked Lunch tells the story of Bill Lee (Peter Weller), a pest controller who is addicted to the chemical he uses in his work. After accidentally killing his wife, he ends up diving into a disconcerting psychedelic underground. Praised for its surreal themes and visuals, Naked Lunch has been subject to some reappraisal, culminating in a restoration premiering at the Berlinale Classics 2023.
