The Seduction of Mimi

A scathing satire of 1970s Italy, this comedy follows Mimi, a Sicilian factory worker whose refusal to vote for the Mafia’s candidate in the elections sets off a chain of events that causes him to lose his job, his wife and his home. Things begin to look up when he meets Fiorella, with whom he starts a new life. But, inevitably, the past returns to haunt him in a crescendo of comic and absurd situations that expose political corruption, men’s obsession with honour and the sexual dimension of power. The version we are presenting is the result of a 4K restoration using negatives from Cinecittà Studios and the Turin Film Archive.
