As part of the retrospective dedicated to him, Palestinian filmmaker Kamal Aljafari will be present at Batalha to reflect on his cinematic career and share his vision of cinema as a space for memory and reconstruction. The director will discuss the use of archival images and found footage in his practice, and how these open doors to formal experimentation and a poetic approach to the image.
