Johnny Guitar

In this adaptation of the novel by Roy Chanslor, Joan Crawford brings to life Vienna, the owner of a saloon located on the outskirts of Arizona, near a railway under construction. Unjustly accused of crimes she didn't commit by the local community, especially by Emma, Vienna enlists the services of Johnny Guitar (a former gunslinger who swapped his guns for a guitar) to protect her. Johnny Guitar is considered a landmark in the western genre, as it places female characters at the forefront of the narrative.
