In Los Angeles at the end of the psychedelic 60s, detective Larry “Doc” Sportello is drawn into a web of intrigue when his ex-girlfriend asks for his help with a case involving her new boyfriend and his wife. To investigate, Doc dives into a world of crime and paranoia inhabited by corrupt police officers, eccentric criminals and musicians on strange missions. Adapted from the novel by Thomas Pynchon, Inherent Vice stars Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston and Reese Witherspoon.
