In the 70s, horror films were used by the New Order regime by General Suharto, in Indonesia, to put into relief the contrast between the superstitious countryside and the assertive order of the urban centers. Over time, this dynamic underwent some changes resulting from the regime change, but also from the emergence of new ways of filmmaking. In this performance-film, Rizaldi presents traditionalist films, and fuses them with found footage in order to explore different perceptions of folklore, be it in rural or urban areas. In parallel, the evolution of production formats and ways of experiencing film in Indonesia and Asia.
