The first film made by Argentinian director Eduardo Williams is a hybrid work between documentary and fiction. El Auge del Humano is divided into three episodes that take place, respectively, in Buenos Aires, Mozambique and the Philippines. As we move from chapter to chapter, we are introduced to three small groups of friends, as well as being transported from one film format to another. This is an immersive and unpredictable sensory experience, full of ideas related to rhythm, texture and scale. It won Best Film in the Cineasti del Presente section at Locarno Festival.
