Touching on the themes of marital rape, abortion and euthanasia, Dr. Glas tells the story of a man’s sexual obsession for a woman trapped in an abusive marriage. Based on a controversial turn-of-the-century novel by Hjälmar Soderberg, Doktor Glas was scheduled to premiere at the edition of Cannes Festival that was cancelled due to the events of May 1968.
