Double Dragon

In a Los Angeles devastated by an earthquake, rival gangs fight for control of the city's streets. Two brothers, masters of martial arts, protect one half of a Chinese talisman which, when complete, grants great power. The other half is in the hands of a megalomaniac businessman who will stop at nothing to dominate the city. Based on a popular video game, Double Dragon is being shown in dialogue with the Gulliver Film Course, which, in chapter V, explores the boundaries between cinema and video games. While it might seem like just a 90s action film for teenagers, it subtly addresses environmental issues linked to urban violence and a dystopian setting — with a mix of martial arts and visual effects.
