A Swedish Love Story

Invited by Batalha, Dominga Sotomayor selected a film to be included in the retrospective dedicated to her work: A Swedish Love Story, the debut feature by Roy Andersson. In this delicate work, we follow two teenagers who fall in love over the course of a summer and build a world of their own—innocent and untouched by social conventions. As the adults around them reveal the weight of their frustrations and the rigidity of their judgments, the young couple experiences a different way of being in the world—lighter, freer.
