Three Less Me

João Canijo’s debut film follows the reunion between Rita (Rita Blanco) and Anne (Anne Gautier), two teenage cousins spending their holidays together in Portugal. Rita is going through a period of insecurity, marked by her parents’ separation and her difficulty in relating to her family and her boyfriend. The arrival of Anne, who emigrated to France several years ago, sparks hope for a renewed bond, but also reveals differences, rivalries and the tensions of a love triangle. Navigating between camaraderie and conflict, the film sensitively portrays the discoveries, misunderstandings and transformations that come with the transition to adulthood.
