The Annals of Private History is a video essay presented as an illustrated lecture that proposes a fictional account of the diary as a practice associated with femininity. The work analyzes the diary as a space of intimacy, but also of repression, marked by the padlock, the bedroom, and the silence imposed on girls. Between instructions directed at the viewer's body and collages of voices from contemporary vlogs, the film questions what can be public or private, exposing hierarchies of gender, control, and permission in the production of discourse.
