Programme:
Lindsay Kemp, legendary performer, teamed up with the young David Bowie—at the time, still on the fringes of stardom—to create Pierrot in Turquoise, a dark spectacle of mime and dance. Bowie composed four original songs and played Harlequin, Pierrot's rival for Columbine's love — paving the way for his Ziggy Stardust persona. Adapted for television by Brian Mahoney, the film blends theater and illusion with a dreamlike, minimalist aesthetic.
