Programme:
In Mustard—a work that we are also presenting in an installation version in the Sala-Filme—, two young escorts ridicule their clients on the telephone. A French-Chilean artist based in Paris, Tohé Commaret combines experimental cinema and documentary, constructing her own language through a prolific series of enigmatic short films that challenge traditional narratives and visual conventions. Her approach is immersive and based on her relationship with those she films—for this work, she spent a considerable amount of time getting to know the two young women before filming them—and the result is permeated by a subversive irony, exposing power dynamics.
