Programme:
Written, directed and performed by Mabel Normand—one of the great stars of early American silent cinema—Mabel's Blunder is a screwball comedy that challenges genre conventions with irreverence and cunning. Mabel, a secretary secretly engaged to her boss's son, is overcome by jealousy and disguises herself as a man to spy on her future husband and another woman, causing a series of misunderstandings and identity swaps that humorously expose the fragility of the social norms of the time.
