Hoodoo McFiggin’s Christmas

Based on a short story by Stephen Leacock, this satirical animated film explores the expectations surrounding Christmas and the loss of innocence. Young Hoodoo buys cigars for his father and a brooch for his mother, proud of his presents. On Christmas morning, he unwraps his presents with growing excitement, imagining he will find roller skates, a puppy, Noah’s Ark, a sledge or a drum. However, each parcel reveals a new disappointment. As his dreams are dashed, Hoodoo learns a bittersweet lesson and decides that, next Christmas, he will do everything differently.
