Michel Auder grew up in France, where he was a member of the radical group of independent filmmakers known as Zanzibar, before moving to New York in 1969. He became involved with Andy Warhol’s Factory and lived for several years at the Chelsea Hotel. Filmed from the window of his studio in Brooklyn and on the streets of Chelsea, where he was living at the time, this film portrays Auder’s daily life and the unique atmosphere of New York in the 1990s. Humor arises spontaneously, in gestures, encounters, and the small eccentricities of everyday urban life.
