Balconies

Inspired by Federico García Lorca's verses, “but I am no longer myself / nor is this house mine", Kamal Aljafari weaves an experimental meditation on the unfinished balconies of his hometown, Ramla, occupied Palestinian territory and now located in the center of Israel. Through an almost furtive observation, the film shows empty streets and uninhabited houses, creating a sense of siege. The imminent risk of demolition becomes a symbol of the continuous denial of Palestinian presence and memory.
