GREENHOUSE is a group project by Mónica de Miranda, Sónia Vaz Borges and Vânia Gala representing Portugal at the 60th International Art Exhibition — Venice Biennale. Supported by Batalha Centro de Cinema, GREENHOUSE proposes collective actions that reflect on the relationship between nature, ecology and politics, through teaching, sound and movement. The garden becomes a space for continuous creativity and dialogue between the artists and the public. Batalha will host its satellite programme, titled Estates, constituting talks about the role of sound in liberation struggles in Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau and Angola. In June, we receive the writer Ondjaki, who will speak about music, poetry and radio as technologies not only of resistance, but of liberation, in a talk moderated by the American historian and researcher Marissa Moorman.
